We started from Sydney, and flew to Mexico via Miami. Mexico was quite spectacular and we enjoyed the Mayan ruins, Tequila, and excellent scuba diving.
From Mexico we flew through Miami again and down to the Carribean to meet the cruise in Puerto Rico after we encountered problems with the airlines.
We flew into Lima, and then on to Cuzco. We spent several days around Cuzco visiting the ruins, and getting used to the altitufe. Then we set to Machu Pichi along the Inca Trail.
We crossed into Bolivia and spent a night on Lake Titicaca, on the Isle del Sol. We travelled by bus and train to La Paz, and then down to Uyuni where we took a 4x4 tour down into the Salars and and desert.
We crossed into Chile from Bolivia in the icy wastelands to the North of Chile, in the desert and mountains and then travelled down to San Pedro, Antafogusta, and then by bus travelled to Temuco before heading up to Santiago for our departing flight.
On the way back from Chile we passed through the USA. We flew directly from Miami to New York and spent a couple of days in the city visiting friends before returning to Australia.
